Well, it's a win. Beyond that, there is nothing good to say about this game.

There would have been other reasons MD lost today if that kick was good... but that Hendy call had me as hot as I've been on a penalty in a good while.
MD survives... found a way to win... improves to 5-1. Good for them.

Ugly game. Different offense without Brown. Disappointed by the run defense today... but just happy to get the W. Would have been a very tough loss.

I'm sure upon reflection there will be a good thing or two to take away from today. But the fact is it should never have come down to them needing a missed FG by a backup kicker to pull it out. I can only hope some of today was just a hangover from last week.

I think with Brown they win fairly handily today.... just think Brown would have opened up other things, kept the ball in MD's hands longer. That said, they did put up nearly 500 yards.
My surprise of the day is seeing UVA put up 500+ yards, and going 8 for 20 on 3rd down. Definitely a relief to win vs. satisfaction. Now go win next week vs. Wake.. hopefully with an improved performance.

Maybe Brown could have done more, but other than the fumble I thought Rowe was alright. The offense was mostly big plays, but not too bad overall. The two ST turnovers were inexcusable and gave UVA 10 points. And though the defense did come up big several times when UVA got in scoring range, they surrendered 242 yards rushing, no sacks and no turnovers forced. That's not going to get it done most Saturday's.
EDIT: And the defense might want to cover the TE from time-to-time.

I just posted my game review for the last Maryland-Virginia game ever. It was definitely exciting, and gives us a lot to talk about in the coming week. There are certainly some questions surrounding the team, but anytime you have to start your backup QB you'll take a win any way you can get it.

I can go along with this

I was at the game today, glad to get the win. I didn't realize it was the backup QB for UVA. There's nothing like it in sports when it comes down to win or lose situation. The narrative would've been quite different if he makes the kick. MD got some breaks today, but all-in-all happy to get the win.

Do you mean backup Kicker? I know UVAs starting QB from last season transferred, but that was months ago. Watford won the job among all the QBs that were on their roster.

Yeah slip on my part, I was reading the comments since I'm not usually on here when I'm actually at games.

Just a terrible performance by the defense, particularly the front 7. Absolutely no pressure on Watford until the very end, and UVA was able to run at will. If both lines don't improve significantly by next season, it's difficult to envision them winning more than a game or 2 in conference next season.
Madaras got completely abused by #7 (whose name I can't remember) several times.
Rowe was OK, about what I expected from him.
If you're looking for silver linings, I'd say that we were -3 in the turnover battle, with a backup QB, and still won. But yeah, wasn't pretty for sure.

I don't think they beat a "better" team today. Good week to play UVA. That's what I'm taking away from today. Hope to get bowl eligible next week.

Very true. Moreover, I think the narrative would also be different if instead of a missed FG the result came down to a play that was actually within the Terps' control. Then I'm sure people are saying things like "they gutted it out" instead of "they just got lucky." But that's not the case, and really it's kind of semantics. Can't overlook that down by 6 in the 4th Qtr they drove the field for a TD, including converting a huge 3rd-and-long.

Good points about the narrative being different if the kick is good. My mindset is certainly different with that slight twist of fate.
