Thanks for the information, Tucker. I'm excited to see how these guys do. Good to see some continuity with the Bowie manager getting the nod to manage the fall league as well.

Thanks.

I am happy they have Kendall managing, as a lot of these players will be with him next season to start. I suspect the following guys to be at AA Bowie next year: Eduardo Rodriguez, Tim Berry, Dariel Alvarez, Michael Ohlman (at some point, if not immediately), Jason Gurka. Then you have Schoop who is very familiar with Kendall.

Be great if Schoop can learn to play an adequate second.

I hope that's the only position they play him in.

Baltimore Sun: Orioles' Henry Urrutia goes 3-for-4 in Arizona Fall League opener

http://www.baltimore...0,1266124.story

Orioles prospect Jonathan Schoop started at shortstop and batted third for Surprise. He was 0-for-4 before being replaced in the eighth inning by Boston Red Sox minor leaguer Mookie Betts.

I think he's played 3B and SS in his first two games lol.

Urruita showing some serious power. Look where he hit it.

Wow. That would be a nice addition to his skillset.

I think Henry is planned to be the starting LF to open the year. Don't know anything concrete, just 3rd party gossip and hunches, but quite a few people are getting that vibe.

Could see a couple rookies playing big minutes for the team this year.

Alvarez looks like he'll be ready sometime mid-late season. Schoop could be your starter at 2B and at very least could be filling in if Manny isn't ready to go in camp. He just needs ML experience at this point, and he's got fans, but he's going to have growing pains. Hope is that Gausman takes a SP spot. Wright is going to be given every chance to start and excel again at AAA, but feel is he's ready for pen now and could see a couple spot starts if injuries pop up mid year.

Hard to call Belifore a rookie, but they are looking hard at him as a solution in the pen as they try to figure out how to work around all those big $$ numbers in the pen (Patton, Matusz, Hunter, O'Day and Johnson could cost $20m ish)

Hear the team is looking VERY hard at internal options right now.

Schoop? Joseph? Gausman? I could see Joseph as the back up catcher.

Wouldn't mind seeing him get some AB, the org. loves him, BUT my money would be on Ward before Caleb, because Ward is amazing defensively.

I'd like to believe Urrutia just needs time at the ML level to adjust but I just don't think he can hit ML pitching. I mean I think he can slap some singles  but a .270 LF/DH with no pop is useless.  So, of course the O's are going to go into the season planning on giving him sig ABs.

This coming from someone who was a big fan of his while in the minors and was ready to see him get some ML ABs. I saw enough at the ML level in his short time though to know the projection by many as a AAA/AAAA player was pretty accurate.
