Asked some of my friends this and it sparked a lively debate.

Curious what y'all think.

I'm sure Batman has an EMP device somewhere, then Tony is short.

Iron Man for a ton of reasons.  Basically, Batman would lose a fight against any real competent comic book hero.

Lol.

As I said on FB in response to this..I take Iron Man.

He could just fly Batman up in the air and drop him until he plunges to his death.

Iron Man could also use that laser thing he pulled out in IM2 when they were surrounded by all the military drones...surely that would cut Batman in half, right?

Totally disagree w/ everyone saying Iron Man.

Bart (TheWedge) put it best on Facebook, "Or anecdotal evidence. Recent in fact. If it wasn't stopped, Thor would have eventually cracked open Stark in The Avengers. And Thor is nowhere near as powerful as Superman. My main gripe about Supes is that he's ridiculously overpowered at best, but the fact remains he's stronger and has more "out there" capabilities than Thor.

Both Stark and Wayne are smart, but they're different kinds of smart. Depending on what version of Batman we're talking about, he's the World's Greatest Detective. Tony Stark isn't too good with the deducing, but he's technically gifted."

Also, I brought up the point that there was a storyline, which basically involved a race of aliens coming to Earth and basically conquering the entire DC Universe. Superman, The Flash, Green Lantern, you name it.  The only person they ignored me was Batman because he didn't have any superpowers. Guess who ended up owning them?

Oh, and Batman is also a master of hand-to-hand combat. Stark wouldn't stand a chance, IMO.

And yes, I realize how big a dork I sound right now debating this with y'all. :P

Why would Iron Man even allow it to get to hand to hand combat?

Batman has plenty of tech toys too. See the Batmobile, Batplane, etc. Not to mention plenty of different suits for special occasions.

Hell, the S.O.B. even hides shark repellant for special occasions. ;)

Because that's how Bane broke his back. Iron Man in his suit would be much stronger than Bane. The question is, can Batman shut his suit down?

OK, so is Batman in the Batplane or something like that? I was assuming both guys would just be in their suits. And in that case, it's not close IMO.

Well, if you just picked both of them up off the street, put them in a ring, and said "fight" then Iron Man would win in like 2 seconds.  But if Batman knew the fight was coming and had time to prepare for it, then I think he'd stand a chance.  I'm pretty sure he'd find a way to depower Iron Man's armor or something.

Couldn't Iron Man bring his army of Iron Men to assist if needed?
