A good overall performance, even in a loss, could give me much more confidence going forward.

Thats what I'm really hoping for. This is probably their toughest game of the year. It bodes well that they have had so much time to prepare, and its the furthest west they have to go all year.

While Im looking at some stats, in our podcast, Chris W alluded to Webb drawing the nickel assignment on Wes Welker. However, Peyton Manning posted a QB rating of 125.3 when looking Demaryius Thomas' way in 2012. When QBs go after Lardarius Webb, their QB rating drops all the way to 42.2. (Corey Graham 75.6, Jimmy Smith 85.5). All 3 of Denver's primary receivers are very successful. Also to be fair, Webb is excellent in the slot holding QBs to a rating of. 30.6. Corey Graham holds QBs to a 78.8 rating in the slot, and 75.6 overall, nearly identical no matter wher he lines up.

By this logic, wouldn't it be better off to neutralize Thomas with Webb rather than Welker? Since Graham will likely give you the same decent performance no matter who he is on? I feel like If you take Welker out with Webb, Thomas will have a bigger game on Graham and definitely Jimmy Smith. I know stats don't tell the whole story.

Chris, Dan, your thoughts?

I'll defer to Chris and Dan, but I tend to agree with you here Mike. In the write-up I did, I stated I expected Graham on Welker, with Smith getting the assignment vs. Thomas.

Smith isn't going to be able to hide. 85.5 QB rating he allows. Shockingly, lower than the 89.1 Cary Williams allowed last year. And Cary got a nice little contract for his effort.

You know Manning will get rid of the ball quickly. As long as the Front 7 gets pressure, I expect the Secondary to be fine.  Game is tougher in the altitude, without having Jones and Williams around to rotate on the D-line.

Mike Florio makes a good point.

If the Broncos run a lot of no huddle, will the Ravens be able switch Upshaw and Dumervil as the please? Probably not. Dumervil could either be gassed on long drives, or stuck on the sidelines.

Love this.  As an aside, my girlfriend (also from Baltimore) often refers to black and white cookies here in New York as Berger cookies.  I try to explain, and tell her 'her Baltimore is showing', but she always forgets.

Gotcha. I just thought that I read you don't drink a couple times in the past, so was curious. It's a good thing (in moderation, so the commercials say.)

I wish. She was actually working today and brought up her boyfriend twice out of the blue in conversations. Still good to me, but might be a no go for now.

@AdamSchefter: Baltimore HC John Harbaugh and Ravens have agreed to a multi-year contract extension, per NFL sources. More on ESPN2.

Is there anything better than having Hines Ward on mute?

"Yes, I am a cheap shot beotch"

"The Steelers do have the biggest and most annoying bandwagon in sports, I agree Bob"

"Steroids?  Oh, we called those 'breathing'.  One in the same, you feel me Bob"
