Maryland not in position to restore eliminated teams, Wallace Loh says

No surprise, with the way the ACC are being a bunch of pricks, and the fact that it will be well more than a year before UM actually receives its first Big Ten check. I saw an interview with Edsall on ESPN where he alluded to some facilities projects (probably the indoor practice facility), and I read his tone as saying they might be closer to starting than this report indicates. It sounds like he was maybe being overly optimistic, unless there is something brewing with a big donor(s). Having to raise the funds 100% via private donations doesn't leave me optimistic that we will see any facility upgrades soon.

That said, I agree with Loh's stance that UM needs to do more to take care of its current student-athletes and paying debts with its internal funds before it embarks on new projects or restoring the sports they eliminated last year.
