I always thought they should have continued The Wire in book form, books about secondary characters, etc. Definitely seemed like a world that lived on after the show ended.

And they actually had a bunch of novelists - Richard Price, George Pelecanos, Dennis Lehane - on the writing staff already. Could have worked.

I can't tell if this is serious or if you're mocking those that have that reaction.

I’m a little less excited since she’s hosting. Not a fan by any means. But I’m not one of those that’s gonna go off the deep end about it like some I’m sure will. I’m still gonna listen. Maybe it’ll be good. I haven’t watched it in a while so maybe I will again.

Alright. Well I'm a fan and this is right up her alley, so I'm excited for it.
Did not know she was a tv critic. But ok.

Realize I'm more than a few years late here but have decided my only New Year's resolution is to watch The Wire for the first time. 3 episodes down, 57 to go.

Don't feel so bad, my first watch was recent. The first 5 season are tremendous. 6 I had some issues with, but still OK.

There were only five seasons, is this a joke going over my head?

I think he just meant 1-4 was great, and 5 had the issues.

Yes. I don't know why I added a season.

I loved episode 8 starts with McNulty quizzing his kids about Jeff Conine and Melvin Mora

Just finished S2, the side plot with the surveillance van going from Baltimore to Australia was very funny for a pretty serious plot otherwise

Forget Frank, thoughts on Ziggy!?
I love season 2. The dock workers have the best nicknames. Johnny Fifty. New Charles. Little Big Roy. Horseface.

Ziggy is fantastic, but Frank is my MVP of Season 2
