Even though Willis has had zero success since 2007, and does not figure to again; this is not a move that bothers me.

He goes to AAA and serves as fodder there. I'd certainly let Peterson work with him, and see if there is any chance at some type of reclamation project. If not as a starter, maybe he can find some of his old stuff as a LOOGY (lefties have never hit him well).

Still, you can't blame anyone who looks at this signing and just sighs.

Read that the Orioles signed Dontrelle Willis to a minor league deal. Even though it is only a minor league deal at this point, other than for minor league depth, I can't see why the Orioles decided to sign him. I figure they have enough starting pitching candidates already.

Love it. Sign Prior too.

It makes no sense to close doors that could potentially lead to success.

I don't get the hate from people on this... He's AAA LOOGY depth on a minor league deal, what's the harm? If we signed a no name lefty to the same deal nobody even notices. He held lefties to a .127 average last year.

This is more directed at the radio and some people I've talked to.

Looks like he might be released. Doesn't think relief role is good for his arm.

Maybe he is right but then he should retire because no one is going to have him as a starter.

Just cut him. What's the point if he's upset about relieving? Nobody is going to want him as a starter.

Dontrelle Willis has agreed to drop his grievance. The Orioles will allow him to start in the minor leagues once he builds up arm strength at extended Spring Training.

These sort of management issues SEEMED not to happen while MacPhail was here. I am concerned with the Duquette Regime's communication/management skills.

I agree. I'm not sure what to think on DD yet but I am willing to let it ride for a bit before judgement.

How's Dontrelle Willis doing in the minors? I read that Willis and Joel Pinero could be on their way out.

I wonder why they would release Pineiro? Good whip and K/BB ratio. Just 12 IP. Seems like good MiL depth to have.
I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

He's been on the DL for over a month.

Hey NMS, how've you been?

I've been looking at your avatar... and I give up.
Is it like a Gnats fan using a St. Louis Browns logo? Or is it about something else?

Apparently he was just released, didn't realize the Orioles had to do this procedural move.

He was worth a gamble. Didn't cost anything but certainly didn't provide anything either.

I know these low-cost moves are continually mocked with the Yankees sign player X and were stuck signing this player. I got no problem with this kind of move either. Sign as many of these players as you want to minor league contracts.
