It would be stupid to trade for Russ imo.
I am not a big fan of volume shooters, who must have the ball all the time. I am pretty sure having 2 of them at basically the same position, will eventually lead to trouble.

Houston might get Paul George, and a 1st for Russ?
That makes no sense to me.

ESPN: James Harden and the Houston Rockets are at a breaking point
Sounds like he's just as much of a headache as he is a talent. But the anonymous ex-staffers are right, the organization really has itself to blame for a lot of it.

If this blows up on Brooklyn, it will be reminiscent of what Boston got from them a decade ago. Just about any decent return for the Rockets would have been good at this point....I mean, when Boogie Cousins is publicly calling you out for being disrespectful, you've absolutely worn out your welcome.

Simmons is under contract through 24-25, so that would have been great.
Still they got 4 1st rounders +, so they should have a lot of flexibility going forward (not OKC, but still).
See Oladipo is a FA after the year... will they try and extend, or flip?

Don't like the Oladipo part of this much, but the picks are pretty great.
Although they sound a little better than they really are. One of the pick swaps is this year, which is highly unlikely to be used, and one of the first round picks is from Milwaukee in the not so distant future, so likely a late first rounder.
The ones in the distant future from the Nets have great potential, though.

I actually think the Rockets win, by getting rid of Harden. I really liked him at OKC, but in the years since then, IMO has become a selfish, entitled player.

He definitely has some issues, especially now, but he and the team had a lot of success together. They probably win a title if Chris Paul doesn't pull a hammy at the worst possible time, and then the narratives on Harden and CP3 are drastically different.
At this point, I think they did pretty much have to trade him though, so I agree there, but the return is the question. Would Simmons + Thybulle + picks have been better? A case can of course be made either way, but depending on the picks, I'd prefer the Sixers offer.
