Seriously, how many saves he has or straight saves he converts is kind of irrelevant. He just hasn't been very good this year.
I mean hypothetically if he had converted 20 straight saves but they were all 2 run leads and he gave up a run in every appearance are we supposed to feel good about that??
No, but he have up one run in his last 14 appearances.
I don't think it's irrelevant. The guy has a track record of being a good closer and I'm not going to let one awful stretch totally change my view on him. Especially since he's put that in the pat and has been very effective since.
Sure, his overall season has been disappointing, but that's because of that bad stretch, which I assume won't repeat itself. I'll take saving 12 out of 13 again and won't go off on him on that 13th opportunity if this sequence repeats.
