With how well Britton has performed of late, I'm actually intrigued tonight. I'm hoping he does enough to warrant another start, and maybe get on a bit of a role here. I'm still not expecting a win vs. Verlander, but I do think he can keep us in the game and give us a chance.

And Verlander has been about a run worse this season than last year, so he's definitely human right now. In his last 7 starts, he's pitched to a 5.53 ERA, though his last outing he went 7 shut out innings vs. the Royals. He's still striking guys out, but he's walking a lot more people too. Let's hope we can scratch a few runs out vs. him tonight and squeeze out a win.

I just realized if Hammel had been healthy, how much would we be hearing about his last outing against Detroit?

Im with Ricker here. This game is all about Britton for me. Really hoping he can show improvement and can remain in the rotation for awhile. Would love to have him fill the 5th starter spot once Chen gets back. I know he still has the talent, hopefully working hard on his mechanics down in AAA for an extended period has helped him.

Some might think this is hyperbole but I'm not sure Britton doesnt give us a better chance than Hammel anyway.

Anything can happen in a single game, I'd still Hammel any day at this point over Britton.

Excelent timing from Mrs. Gonzo!  Miguel won't have to miss any starts.  Win win!

Arrieta optioned to Norfolk and Navarro DFA'd to make 40 man room for Ishikawa. Last time we've seen Jake in an O's uniform? I'm thinking he'll be traded before making another MLB appearance.

I hope he spends the next 6 weeks in the Norfolk bullpen, and we can reevaluate then. Could see him as part of a trade package, but he certainly does not have much value. If he can be part of a trade package so be it, but I'd still like to see what he could provide as a reliever.

Adam Jones is the leading vote getter amongst all OFs in the American League...I'm not shocked, but am at the same time...he's pretty damned good, and we should be happy to have him!

I still feel the same as the article I wrote when he was first sent down this year. Pretty much what you just said.

Damn, and we may get 2-of-3 in the OF if Kakes can keep it going....

Anyone seriously optimistic about Zach tonight?  This may be the booze talking (from early day drinking) and some more tonight, but I am...c'mon Zachy!  Let's go beat Verlander's balls in!!!!
