Wow. So I guess the injuries were his fault.

This is apparently largely because he wanted an extension and they obviously didn't want to give him one so they choose to part ways now rather than have an unhappy coach.

I imagine Prokhorov will push hard for him. He seems to be intent on getting a name-brand coach there.

Where's Peter to defend him?

Adam suggested on Twitter and I agreed, the Wizards should get him. I don't think he's a long-term solution, but he could lead them to the next level.

Regular season award, Marty Schotteinheimer is also in the regular season coaches HOF. One appearance advancing past the first round in nearly a decade. In terms of coaching tenures in pro sports, that's a long time. Many Nuggets fans are upset because they remember what they were pre-Karl(Bzdelik actually started the climb). I think they need someone else to take them to the next level.

This makes much more sense.

GM went to Toronto, ftr. Rare for the either EOY or COY to not return, not sure if it's ever happened that both haven't in the same calender year. I'm almost certain that this is the first time, where they have come from the same team and both not returned.

Watch how many teams line up to try to hire him in the next 2 weeks.

Clippers should probably go with the younger Shaw but they will have interest IMO...As will NJ.

Karl should sit out a year before going to DC.

I think he would be a tremendous fit for the Clippers. They are perfect for his up-tempo style. Plus, everyone said they didn't have an offensive system with VDN. Well, they'd certainly have one with Karl.

Grizz and Nets might be too slowest teams in the league.

And no...DC should fire Wittman and hire Karl NOW.

Sure, DC should hire him....but he shouldn't go there.

Agree about DC. But that would be a good decision, so you can imagine EG and co. won't even consider it.

I said I thought the Wizards should get him, doesn't mean I think he's a top 5 coach.

As I previously pointed out in a Caps thread, Leonsis still hasn't fired (or hired) a GM. He's very patient which I like, but I think he's too much in this case.

Davey Johnson sympathizes.
