I haven't started to look into the numbers yet...but one initial thought...Stockton over Pippen?

Pippen is an interesting one, and definitely worthy of a nice debate..What kind of player would he have been if he had be "the man"..Someone should check out his numbers the two years MJ "retired". Not taking anything away from what he did accomplish, mind you, just curious.

I'm off to the Rockies/Nats game, which for some reason is a Noon start..I'll check in later.

I asked a Nats fan why the odd start time, he told me he thought it was because tonight is the Nats Gala.

The Bulls won 55 games the year Jordan didn't play at all. Pippen averaged 22ppg, 8.7 boards, and 5.6 dimes while shooting 49%.

And arguably should have had his team back in the Finals again. He was called for a phantom foul in Gm 7 against the Kncks late in the conference Finals. Or was it game 6. Memory foggy, but I know there was controversy.  Anyway,  Pippen was really good.

I believe you are underrating him. I think he's already exceeded initial expectations -- he was holding back in high school. Let's look at his resume: 4 NBA Finals appearances, 2 championships(MVP both times), 4X MVP, NBA first team every year since 2008, perennial All-Star, Olympic gold medal, Rookie of the Year. And he's not even 30 yet. How many people have achieved this much at his age (and yes I know he started earlier but still). Unless he wins every year now, sure some people are going to be disappointed.

And that's my point. It will hardly matter how his resume finishes there will be a group that won't ever be satisfied with his accomplishments.

I'd agree with moving Lebron up (it was real late last night when I posted this). I'd say just under Duncan - right now.

Pippen was a fabulous player who proved that he was a little more than Robin to Jordan's Batman.

I still have a hard time forgiving him for refusing to leave the bench during the 94' playoffs against the Knicks in the Eastern semis. Jackson had designed the final play for Toni Kukoc instead of him with 1.8 left. Pippen refused to break the huddle and sat out the end of the game which they won because Kukoc hit a game winning fade-away.

Pippen vs. Stockton is a interesting argument. I always find it hard to compare players that played different positions. I can see a case for Pippen over Stockton and maybe on a different night I'd do the same. I always felt that Stockton was THE prototype point guard of the time even though he was often overshadowed by Magic who redefined the position.

The guy that could easily be on this list, had he played more In the NBA, is Sabonis.
