The AP reported yesterday ( that Memphis extended Marc Gasol's contract.

I do not follow the NBA extensively, but I liked what I saw out of the Grizzlies in the playoffs last year.

I know they have lost Battier, but they played well in the playoffs without Baltimore's Rudy Gay who returns.

Their roster currently looks like:

1) Conley, Vasquez, Selby (another Baltimore product)
2) Mayo, Young, Henry (injured ankle, out the 1st month)
3) Gay, Allen
4) Randolph, Arthur
5) Gasol

Randolph played out of his mind in the post-season last year. Where do you rate Memphis in the West?

Good move for the Grizz.

Things are changing in the West. The Lakers and Spurs are falling off and the Clips and Grizz are on the rise. The Nuggets may be interesting as well. And of course The Thunder are on the verge of title contention.

Without looking into too much quite yet, I'd rank the teams out West like this:

Nuggets (lets see what happens with Affalo)

There seems to be a ton of parody in the NBA right now. I used to watch it a lot with my roommate back in college. I might have to reinvest some time in watching it again.
