JJ is mentally done...he needs some major work on the side....O'Day is now my closer.

It's a fucking joke that Buck didn't pull him after he clearly couldn't locate anything but his fastball, and tentatively even with that.
Absolutely Patton has to come into face Kowasaki there. Buck loss anyway. Karma from the previous innings.

Wow. Just way too many of these losses. I mean JJ can't even avoid losses for the most part. He's losing games. Have to make a change. The problem is it completely messes up a weaker pen anyway,

I said he should've gotten pulled in the San Diego game and 4 blown saves later Buck still hasn't learned.
There is no excuse to not have a quick hook by now. Buck can spout whatever he wants. You have to have a quick hook when your closer has blown 4 games in a little over a week and is blowing up in front of you again. .

Unfortunately O'Day has been pretty "exciting" lately too.
No doubt. The pen is shaky as hell right now. And I know people will start to mention overwork but it's not that. ot this early. They just haven't pitched very well.

Thorne just asked Buck if he would use Johnson tomorrow and he said "sure". LoL
Yeah, lets hope he's blowing smoke. Probably not but lets hope.

I love Buck, but I really, really wish he was being serious when he acted all badass by saying he doesn't care about the save rule, only the win rule.
4 runs the other day, O'Day was in. 3 runs, has to be JJ. Buck must get an escalator in his contract every time JJ gets a save.

I think half the pen has gotten predictable due to (let me steal a term from the Demper....) OVEREXPOSURE!!!!!
The hitters know what's coming now more than ever, and it's due to scouting and seeing them more and more. I think we took the EAST by storm a bit last year, and hitters just didn't have enough time to adjust when they saw them, but this year, it's the same guys throwing the same pitches, so familiarity is a killer.
This is why I harped about why we needed to turn over half the bullpen (Patton, Strop, and even include Matusz) to get some "new blood" in.
I also think they've been worked harder than they should be, and it's due to piss poor innings work by our starting pitching. I don't understand why our organization can NOT produce top of the rotation starters that we're drafting the past 5+ years (Matz, Jake, etc) and I fear what may or may NOT happen to Bundy or Gausman. Our organization does not develop good pitching....they come in prospects and they turn out #5 starters or BP guys. It's a shame, and I think that's our biggest downfall as an organization right now, besides our ownership.
