JJ was really rattled. I've never seen him that rattled. Who knows how much the blown save Tue and losing streak had on that but it was there. There is mental pressure in sports and it cancan be draining. I believe it's there right now.

I think you're being a bit dramatic here. He was ratteld because he had absolutely no clue where his pitchers were going and he didn't have one pitch that he even marginally trusted today. That's enough to shake a pitcher up pretty good.

Sucks that we're probably going to be without Bundy for the year.

Aside from Gausman, I'm not sure there's anyone in our system who can help our starting pitching and who knows how long Chen will be out. We can only tread water for so long with a rotation of Tillman, Hammel, Jurrjens, Garcia, and whoever else they can throw out there. It's ugly right now.

For an individual I agree there can be carryover from recent poor performance.  We've seen that with Strop earlier this year.  Johnson is now into a similar funk.

I just don't think that type of stuff has a major impact on the team as a whole.

Man. Was 6-4, with JJ coming on, I go upstairs to get dinner and all hell breaks loose.

This loss is obviously all your fault.

Yep. Looks like my curse has carried over from hockey to baseball season.

Oppo. When you stop watching the Hockey games, the Caps actually do well.

Yeah this one is backwards. Although that didn't help in game 7.

I was at the Oriole game today.  About to start top of the 9th inning, heard JJ's music come on. I figured the game was over. I was wrong about that.  I could definitely sense that he was rattled. I figured it was probably due to his loss earlier in the week. Just assumed that he would use this game and get his act back together.  He definitely had his issues today.  Pitches were not going where he wanted.  I think the team has a whole played bad in the 9th inning (except for the double play at the end).

Luckily they're not even at the half-way mark yet, so there still is a lot of time to turn this around.  Buck is a veteran manager who has seen this before.  JJ will get out of his funk and be just fine.
