Jones had early success that he believes it will continue because he did it before.

He did it before with Jimmy Johnson running the show.  On his own, he has won the same amount of Super Bowls as the Cleveland CLowns.

New: I'm told former #Jets and #Bills head coach Rex Ryan interviewed for the #Cowboys vacant defensive coordinator job, per sources.

Rex as DC for the Cowboys could be really good or really bad.  Likely bad as they already run their mouth like they're the best defense ever.

Big personality. Would probably undermine McCarthy even if he wasnt doing it intentionally. And possible he would do it intentionally.

Good point.  I was thinking more on the player side.  With the Jets, the defense was big and bad and had all the "swagger" under Rex at first.  Then it turned into an undisciplined mess.

What a dumpster fire. And they weren't good before Dak got hurt.

What's annoying is that in the middle of the playoffs there's going to be way too much time spent on this story and Dallas finding a new coach. Who cares. They're just another franchise at this point. Haven't won jack in 30 years.

Partly happy because McCarthy will immediately become a candidate for some other open jobs. But also opens up a job and maybe another whole staff turnover in Dallas.

I don't think the timing of McCarthy's departure was coincidental.

What Jerry needs most is a GM like DeCosta. But he won't ever give a quality personnel guy the keys to the truck...

My cousin is a Cowboys fan and rides for Jerry as GM, saying they draft as well as any team in the league. Where it seems they falter is with FA signings. They basically don't get involved in FA and at times it shows.

As long as Jerry is sucking air, it's going to be his show for better or worse.

Deion and Jerry are having discussions about the coaching vacancy. Because of course they are.
