ESPN: Wrong on Wilson? Hey, I liked Ryan Leaf

http://espn.go.com/b...liked-ryan-leaf

You always here the "told you so" after the fact, but rarely it seems do you see people admitting they were wrong. Credit to Sando, not sure how his fellow scribes feel about being exposed though.

Rumors are that the agent for Russell Wilson wants to re-do the contract, since Wilson is getting paid 3rd round money for being a starting QB. Can't blame the agent on this one. Just trying to get more money for his client. He can probably re-negotiate later on, but he's gotta wait 2 more years to see how good Wilson really is.

The owner is FURIOUS about it too, then they tried to backtrack and say it was a joke...this isn't going to end well later.

One of those "rules are rules." I'll bet Kaepernick wishes he could re-negotiate his salary. How many MLB players who haven't hit arbitration wish they could be making more than MLB-minimum?

Bottom-line, it's a slippery slope. I get Russell Wilson's frustration since he's severely underpaid, but from an ownership standpoint, I can't see Paul Allen re-negotiating. Not just that, other owners would be furious at him for setting a precedent.

I don't see this changing until the next CBA.

ESPN: Leroy Hill arrested for alleged assault

Police said they responded to Hill's home around 4 p.m. Tuesday. A 26-year-old said she had been assaulted several times and was kept in Hill's home against her will. The woman told police that Hill blocked the doorway and took her cell phone. She was able to escape the home when Hill used the bathroom, police said.

Free agent after this season. Something tells me the Bengals or Lions might be in his future..

The trade is contingent on Harvin and the Seahawks agreeing upon a new contract within the next 48 hours.

Despite Vikings GM Rick Spielman denying that the Vikings are going to trade Harvin at the scouting combine last month, Harvin will be reunited with Seattle’s offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell, who drafted Harvin in 2009 while working in Minnesota.

The Seahawks gave up at least a first-round pick in the Harvin trade.

Not a lot of size with guys like Tate and Harvin. Need Rice to stay healthy.

Seattle sends this years first round pick and a 7th rounder as well as a mid-round pick next year for Harvin. Win-win for both teams

Minnesota better find some talent fast or they might as well rename the team to the Minnesota Adrian Petersons.

I'm sure they will go after Jennings.

Don't think the Gnats will let him go, but the double bonus of hurting the Packers will probably be too hard for them to pass up. Either way it won't matter without a better QB.

Giants put a first round tender on him today.

Minn could offer him a deal that the Giants don't want to match...and give up the first rounder they got for Harvin today.

They have the pieces no doubt, I just can't see the Giants letting him walk, their offense would fall apart without him. They have no RB right now, and would just leave them with Nicks to count on.

But they like Nicks better....can't pay 2 WRs huge money...it hurts the rest of the team too much.

Finding an RB won't be too difficult.

They need 2 GREAT WR to make the offense work though. They aren't the same team without both of them in the lineup.

No offense needs TWO GREAT WR to work....and if it does, its incredibly flawed because you can't build an NFL team that way.

They may end up keeping Cruz but if they do, it will be at the expense of many other things and will ultimately hurt them and stop them from being a real contender.

Speaking in a Monday radio interview, GM John Schneider said the Seahawks are prepared for a "huge spectrum" of possibilities with Percy Harvin's hip injury.
"It could be something where he is out practicing within the next (week), or it could be something like coach (Pete) Carroll was talking about where they do advise surgery," Schneider said. Harvin is receiving a second opinion on Tuesday in New York. SI's Peter King predicted Monday that Harvin will be ready for Week 1. King was at Seahawks camp last week. Jul 29 - 1:18 PM
