UNC is currently 19th in RPI, 12th in SOS, and 29th in the Ken Pom rankings.
Maryland lost 62-52 at Chapel Hill on 1/19.

A win here and we are back on the bubble IMO.
If somehow we were to beat UNC and Virginia to end the season IMO we are right back to being one of the last 2 teams either in or out.

It's funny, because UNC may need this win ALMOST as bad as Maryland does. They're well on the right side of the bubble, but they can't lose to UMD, then face Duke, THEN possibly be one-and-done in the tourney. That would force them back on.

They are currently in the second Four Out, not sure if this win will get them to the First Four. It's just funny what a single win or loss, everyone's talking prior to this game they needed to win the ACC Tourney and the rest of the regular season is meaningless. Now they beat UNC, win their final game and win one in the ACC, that might do it.A win here and we are back on the bubble IMO.

I think there would be a very slim chance if they get to 10-8 and win only once in the ACC tourney. Wouldn't be expecting a berth though, nor think we got robbed if written miss out. They are currently in the second Four Out, not sure if this win will get them to the First Four. I also have very little hope of them winning at UVA. Think they'll have a shot against UNC though.

Carolina has looked really good the past few weeks, and we've seemed to settle into a nice rotation as March arrives. Should be a good one. Good luck, boys.

Season ends this weekend...my guess is they play this game...or move it to Thursday.Wonder how this storm is going to impact UNC at Maryland Wednesday night.... how full will the Comcast Center be for a game the Terps absolutely need to win?
Students should be there..rest of crowd could be sparse.

If it's like some past games, where they can play but not get outside fans in, and they open the whole arena up to whomever can show up...I bet they get a good raucous student-heavy crowd.Wonder how this storm is going to impact UNC at Maryland Wednesday night.... how full will the Comcast Center be for a game the Terps absolutely need to win?

I can only ever remember them doing that once (against WF in 2003 I think, I was there) when they let anyone with a student ID in for free and sit in any open seat. It was awesome. The entire lower bowl was nearly full with students. If it's like some past games, where they can play but not get outside fans in, and they open the whole arena up to whomever can show up...I bet they get a good raucous student-heavy crowd.
I don't think the forecast for tonight and tomorrow is nearly as severe as what caused that situation (more of a blizzard). I think it's more likely that they don't go that route and just some people decide not to use their tickets if the weather is bad.

Yup. That was it. The week of my 21st birthday.

That's the exact game I meant (I was there, too).I can only ever remember them doing that once (against WF in 2003 I think, I was there) when they let anyone with a student ID in for free and sit in any open seat. It was awesome. The entire lower bowl was nearly full with students.

That was a bad snow, for sure. It really all depends on the condition of the roads. If people simply can't get to the arena they won't just say, "Tough luck."

I think this has more to do with the fact, he's Dick Vitale and doesn't want to deal with some snow. It's not like Fran Fraschilla lives in the area, I'm pretty sure he lives in Texas. I think will live without Dickie V.No Vitale:

Hopefully it's a ruckus crowd tonight. Busy as hell up in Jersey for work, but I'll be able to watch this one thankfully.
