I can't believe that I left this out when commenting on the game. For some of us older fans this is a massive deal considering the circumstances under which Driessel exited the program. Back when they closed Cole he was NOT on the guest list of those to be honored in 2002.
I'm glad that they at least honored him before he died.

It is nice to see Lefty get his due. He became the scapegoat on the whole Bias episode but Charles G "Lefty" Driessel elevated Maryland basketball to relevance and beyond.
I think back to so many Lefty stories and he was always controversial but never boring.
The UCLA of the East, the Terps never became but they became damn good.
He should write a book. Knowing Lefty it would be a great read.
