Keep an eye on Riley Barber. He impresses me every time I watch him.

Good stuff, thanks. I'm new to following prospects for Hockey - Is there a go-to-website that you frequent to keep up with their stats or any analysis out there?

Dave hit the big two. Hockey prospects are a little harder to gauge than baseball guys, you learn much more considering their level of competition than their results. The most I learn year to year is actually from talking to my friends in the game, and seeing them in developmental and training camp.

Only gripe I'd have Dave is that Grubauer has been highly thought of for a couple years now.

Yeah I could be wrong but I thought I remember reading somewhere that Grubauer could end up being better than Holtby.

I haven't been a huge fan of his positioning until this year. But yeah, he's been on everyone's board for a while now. He needs to be getting the bulk of the starts in Hershey at this point. Needs to work on the mental aspect of his game because he can be prone to letting in soft goals. Thanks for your input. Always appreciate having another perspective on a player.

I was never that high on Holtby to begin with, so I certainly agree with that.

FTR, if Elite Prospects is down, www.hockeydb.com is my next go to.

Caleb Hebert
Sergei Kostenko (NOTE: I've seen his first name spelled "Sergei" and "Sergey")

If anyone's interested, I interviewed Garrett Mitchell of the Hershey Bears. He's improved A LOT from last year. Much better puck-handling. Great third or fourth line wing. An absolute beast killing penalties.

In case anyone cares, Cody Eakin (traded for Mike Ribeiro) scored his first goal of the season on Wednesday. Glad to see that he's found his place in Dallas.

My Stars friend texted me last night to tell me that. Good for him.

Goodness gracious, Tom Wilson is having himself one heck of a year. 46 points in 38 games with a +24. Really impressed with how much he's improved his offensive game. And goodness, can that guy hit. I still remember at Caps development camp how the coaches had to tell him to tone down his game because they were afraid he was going to hurt someone.

Riley Barber finds a new way to impress me every time I watch him. 30 points (12 goals, 18 assists) in 28 games. Very solid on defense as well. Chandler Stephenson is doing very well for the Regina Pats. Mark my words, Filip Forsberg doesn't need to spend a minute in the AHL.

Top 10 lists for the month of October:

http://erectionforov...s-october-2013/

He didn't make either list, but keep an eye on Garrett Haar. Second amongst defensemen in the WHL for points. After point totals of 8 and 9 while at Western Michigan University, he has 8 through 5 games with the Portland Winterhawks and has a +/- of 8. Can't express how much better he looks so far- confident and aggressive with the puck and aggressive on defense.
