It's almost time to officially close the book on 2012, and turn the page to '13... but here is one more chance to reflect on this past year.

The year i got to take my kids to a PLAYOFF GAME!!
Enough said!
Pretty much.
I got to watch playoff baseball. Watching Adam Jones hit that home run against the Yankees in September (from home, unfortunately)...man, words can't describe.

Totally concur with this. Anything besides a WS championship will be hard to top this one.I still struggle to put into words how awesome the 2012 season was for me. Needless to say, (I was 4 in 1989), this was, by far, the most special sports season for me for any of my teams, ever.

Amazing how years and years of ineptitude will sour a person who grew up loving, playing, and coaching the game on a sport that been a huge part of my life. I just wanted the O's to be relevant again and we got a playoff run.

I still have that full game saved on my DVR. I was there with some good friends. That, and the Ravens/49ers Thanksgiving game are my two most favorite sporting events I've attended live in my life.

Random thing: SBTarheel thought he couldn't go to the game, and was going to leave me a ticket, but I turned it down (I think my wife had a girl's night out that night, or something, and I had to put the kid to bed. I forget.). My wife ended up not going at the last minute. I'm not mad at her for it, but it still irks me. That's one of those moments you live for.

That sucks man. Yeah, it was the first time in my life that I've seen Camden Yards like that. And when Wieters ball found the front row in the 1st, the place just absolutely erupted. The stands were shaking.Random thing: SBTarheel thought he couldn't go to the game, and was going to leave me a ticket, but I turned it down (I think my wife had a girl's night out that night, or something, and I had to put the kid to bed. I will say that going to the playoff games mitigated it somewhat. While the A-Rod strikeout was cheered for pretty loudly, I think Matusz's shutdown of the Yankees was probably my greatest feeling there. It was one of those, "Holy crap...this is actually happening" moments.
