Orioles Hangout: Recap of Duquette on XM
http://orioleshangou...-duquette-on-xm

A good recap from OH poster Paul Coates of Duquette on XM. Some interesting information passed on.
I focused on number 10, which was that other teams like Britton and S. Johnson.

Duquette is a pretty straight shooter. Everything you need to know about the O's current mindset on everything was captured there.

MASN's Roch Kubatko also had a recap: http://www.masnsport...peculation.html

I've long thought that trading Britton might be the Orioles best approach if they want to upgrade without losing ground.
While he could end up being a very solid pitcher, I do worry about his stamina throughout an entire season. His arm slot is also a little worrisome and I have had a few scouts mention to me that it scares them as well. I do not think it is any coincidence that he's been injured so much. It's a little jerky for my liking. I'm no "injury expert" though so take what I'm saying with a grain of salt.

I'm not really saying I want to trade him, but I think he can provide the most bang for the buck. This is out of Matusz, Britton, Arrieta. I just wouldn't deal TIllman.

I have a feeling quite a few NL teams with spacious parks would like Steve Johnson. While I still do not think he is truly a starter, he is still a pretty decent pitcher to fill out a rotation or work out of the pen.

Count me in as someone who would be very interested in a Britton trade. If he's drawing solid interest from other teams, I'm definitely shopping him.

I trade Britton and S Johnson in a deal without hesitation.

I still like Steve Johnson as a back-end starter or effective swingman (worse case scenario).

I do as well, but I would be open to dealing him if other teams value him highly.

I do support the idea of dealing some starting pitching, who to deal of course partially depends on how other teams value them.

Feel free to continue discussing Britton and S. Johnson here in the context of this discussion.

However, if you want to discuss them further individually, use the Player Talk forum.

Another interesting note was about Urrutia.

Dan, we all would love to see him play. You know...after he can step foot in the country. I feel like it's been over a year since they signed him, and he still hasn't. It's only been about 4 months, but still. They were talking about him getting a few weeks in at Bowie this season. That sure didn't happen. I know it's not their fault.

Really prefer not to trade Britton. IMO, he's barely behind Tillman in terms of value right now and I still like his long term outlook better than Tillman's.

I'd say Britton probably has the best stuff of all of the young pitchers but command and the shoulder are standing in the way. He's enough of a question mark that I'd include him in the right deal.

The shoulder worries me...my personal #1 reason for trading him.

Good Stuff. It looks like DD wants more speed, which is good. Seems to think we have options at 1B.
Here is a wild thought, could Nick Markakis be one of those options. MY guess is no, but I would not be surprised if that has been discussed.
I do not like Davis at first unless they work him like crazy.

IMO, we will trade pitching for hitting at the winter meetings.

Yep, that is a nickname that the world does not need.
