Santander to the NYY is happening. No doubt in my mind.

They might go for Hernandez. I expected him back to LA but signing Conforto might mean they're letting him go.

Either guy is solid, but both are massive downgrades from Soto and the rest of their lineup after he and Judge is pedestrian at best.

He'll go to the highest bidder, whoever that may be.  He'd go to the White Sox if they paid him the most.

I expect to see the Yankees take a step back next year.  They'll still be in the hunt as long as Judge stays healthy but losing Soto is a major blow.

Even if they don't do much in FA their pitching will keep them around. But let's be honest. They're spending money this offseason. I'll be surprised if Burnes isn't in Yankee pinstripes next year.

MLB rumors: The veteran outfielder Orioles considered prior to Tyler O’Neill signing

Count me as glad that didn't happen.

I'm not so sure Burnes wants to stay in the East.  The Yankees will probably throw a lot of money at him, as will other teams but if someone matches their offer and they're a west coast team, I think that's who he signs with.

Stay healthy pls

There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note

2-21 vs LHP with 0 walks or XBH. Still a small sample where I can't imagine he'd end the year with a .095 OPS vs LHP but not exactly a great start for someone who destroyed them last year

His numbers vs LHP were Judgian last year, but prior to that they were merely good. Upper 700s in '22 and '23.  Great in '21.  Really bad in '20, bad in '19, good in '18 though in each of those seasons he only had ~30 PA.

No chance of avoiding the comparison...

Tony is 3/18 with 2 2B plus 3 BB against LHP.  He's been equally awful against RHP and LHP so far.  570 OPS v RHP, 564 v LHP.

Fenway Park last year, didn't hurt his numbers

Actually, it did.  He was even better against LHP on the road (1254) than at home (1101) last year.  He destroyed LHP everywhere last season.  Still only 150ish PA total.

We all knew this is how it would be. The O's knew this is who he is. No surprises here.

I was OK with letting Taters walk. But that's because I heard stories about all the really good/great OF talent they had in the minors, who were on the cusp of graduating to Baltimore. I suppose they accidentally misplaced them, since they signed 2 FA COFers

Good news! I saw a dog today.

That is who O'Neill is.

You can count on him to miss 50-70 games a year.

Not to mention getting some of the worst at bats you will see.
