You might be right about Crosby.

You might get someone who could actually make a 45 yard field goal consistently if you could weather the swarm.

Keep doing what you're doing and you'll keep getting what you get.

I doubt Tucker's not done with missing XP's, much less FG's for the balance of the year.

Chris Boswell was in much the same situation two years ago with Pittsburgh--I think he missed something like eight of 28 field goals that year. But now he's missed just five in the past two seasons.

I can understand the trepidation and dread that people are feeling every time Tucker goes out there to attempt a kick we took as a foregone conclusion for so long, but what no one knows is whether this current stretch is the end of a career or just a prolonged slump. Unless the Ravens designate him as a post-June 1 next year, there's no advantage to cutting him, either. Maybe it wouldn't be such a bad idea to bring someone in now to compete with him for the job through this season, but who is that guy? Right now the only available kickers I'm seeing are Greg Joseph, who was waived earlier this season by the Giants, and Randy Bullock, who hasn't kicked in the NFL in over a year.

I think He's done. The ball is not coming off his foot the same way IMO. FWIW, a friend of mine told me he looked horrible in warm ups yesterday. Maybe an off season of PEDs & masking agents fixes things.

Also, you don't have to replace him with retreads that you list. The Chiefs signed two guys the past few weeks after Butker was placed on the injured. They signed a guy off the Jets practice squad who was perfect before getting hurt himself. They replaced him with Matthew Wright who kicked for the Chiefs when Butker was injured before.

There's options out there, the Ravens seemingly don't want to even entertain signing someone to the practice squad. Tucker has been given more than enough rope to prove that he is the worst kicker in the league. They seem ok with it.

When Tucker hits the ball right he still has the correct ball flight and power. Its mechancical. Now, maybe he will never be consistent with his mechanics again and we will need to move on.

I will say this though, if we need a clutch game winning kick in the playoffs I'll still take this Tucker over some jabroni off the street whos never made a big playoff kick in his life

Just like Hyde suffering through Orioles hitters flailing away at the plate for weeks, Harbaugh will just have to hope Tucker finds his groove again.  They aren't going to release him or bring someone in.  At least not for the duration of this season. The best-case scenario for you or other fans who want to see him gone is for him to get injured and then they have no choice but to hire another kicker. Other than that, it's Tucker who you're going to be looking at.

Wow, the implication that an injury is a best case scenario for me or any other fan who is pointing out Tucker's fall is a pretty shitty comment. I don't wish an injury on anyone. I have resigned myself to the fact that he'll be kicking on Sundays for the balance of the year and I hope that he can find himself. I doubt this happens, the fact he is that He's statistically the worst kicker in the league. I know, the truth hurts.

I certainly don't want him to get injured either. Maybe I could have phrased differently. What I'm saying is that would be the only way Tucker wouldn't be out there for the rest of 2024. If he isn't hurt, he's the kicker. Harbaugh has said as much.
