Don’t like the SB attempt. The upside is you can score on a WP or PB. But not worth the risk when a guy as fast as he is can score from 2nd on a single. Running on contact and whatnot

September lightens up. I’m still lacking confidence but maybe they can get hot at the right time.

I almost hope those 3 games to end the month in The Bronx don’t matter. Don’t need the stress/disappointment.

Of course, the 3 games in Minnesota to end the year could end up mattering a lot. Could conceivably do 6 straight games at Target Field

Eflin is back.

Rodriguez is back throwing from flat ground. Barring a set-back, he will be back.

Webb beginning rehab stint soon.

Westburg and Coulombe also progressing.

Focus on each individual series.
Get back to winning series.

Get these guys back in the fold.

Close the gap on the Yankees by the time you get to NY.
Focus on winning the East.

I wish I had a shred of Stoner’s unbridled optimism. I’d prolly be a lot happier.

I'm not an optimist.  At best I'm pragmatic.  But my normal disposition probably leans pessimistic.
I try and work at projecting optimism where I can.

I'm not blind, I see what everyone else sees.
But they've got 15% of their season left.
One series at a time here.
Start putting some W's together, and get some guys back, and let's go.

Prediction. If we don't put together at least a 3 game winning streak then October will be short lived. Wins get tougher come the playoffs.

The Yankees are 39-39 since June 1st. Cleveland Is 39-40. KC 40-38. Twins 41-37, but only 19-20 in the second half. Every fan base is likely saying the same thing.

Houston has been good and is the only team anyone might reasonably be scared of, but they're still far from a bye. Maybe someone will do us a favor and knock them out for us.

The whole top of the AL has been in the vicinity of mediocre for the most part, through / around the same stretch as the Orioles. So that's fortunate.

They looked strong all through last season, never really significantly slumped, and then come playoffs pitching faltered a bit while the bats went silent at key times.

Just have to hope the opposite happens this year. Get Grayson and some arms back, Burnes turns it on again, get a couple bats back and they get hits with RISP this time... and they can go far.

I think it's gonna be the couple of teams that turn it back on come October, and for them, the struggles of the last 6 to 8 weeks will be forgotten.
