Are the Warriors a legit title contender or just off to a hot start?
I like the roster. Title contender would be a bit surprising. Nice win vs Boston. Might beat OKC tonight.

The Athletic's Andrew Marchand reports that Inside the NBA will continue after this season, and be broadcast on ESPN/ABC while being produced by TNT. Interesting arrangement, but sounds like Chuck, Kenny, Ernie and Shaq will keep doing their thing, which should make a lot of people happy.

Just to expand a bit, this agreement is a part of a settlement between TNT and the NBA stemming from the lawsuit the former filed after the network deemed the NBA violated its "right to match" clause when it awarded its next broadcast package to ESPN/ABC, NBC and Amazon (TNT believed it matched Amazon's offer, the NBA disagreed). It doesn't sound like the show will be on weekly throughout the season. In the early season it will likely air on occasions like opening night, Christmas Day and maybe some NBA Cup games. Then it will air when ABC begins showing its weekly Saturday night games in December. It will also likely air more frequently when the playoffs begin.
In addition to keeping and producing Inside the NBA, TNT along with subsidiaries Bleacher Report and House of Highlights will have rights for both games and highlights in some countries outside the US. TNT will also continue to operate NBATV and NBA.com as they’ve always done.
Also, Shaq is not yet under contract after this season, but the expectation is that he will extend his deal with TNT and remain part of the show.

Marchand has been all over this story. Apparently ESPN is paying TNT to be the broadcaster for ITNBA….not in cash, but in inventory. ESPN is giving TNT the rights to broadcast Big 12 games, 13 football and 15 basketball. This will be a 6 year deal.

This is a big win-win for everyone but one person….Screamin’ A. Smith, who will now see NBA Countdown bumped to second tier status on the Disney networks, but that show was always garbage.
