There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note
"Now OPS sucks. Got it."
"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."
"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty

I feel good about them going to St. Louis. Not a very good team and I can see the offense doing well.
Gray will be tough. Not terribly worried about Lynn or Gibson.
St. Louis has a pretty poor offense. Arenado and especially Goldschmidt really struggling.

Is there a better owner than Rubenstein? Hopefully he's as enthusiastic about investing in the team!
He's winning the ownership game right now. He's everywhere. Reubensplash. Out there throwing hats. Has everyone (from the top) engaged. They showed a thing today where you get to hit golf balls out of the upper deck? Crazy, but cool. Guys in the box seem lose and having fun.
You don't have to spend to win, you do want to use money as a tool to build the Plan. I guess they've shown some of their hand by the lack of commitment to certain players, but whatever. Those are just choices. Salary actually goes down a lot next year. That's fine, the Team should still have opportunity to be good.

The team defense today was spectacular.
Westburg impresses me more and more at 3B. Gunnar has been great. Mateo great relay today. Mountcastle missed an early one but has been GG.

Good win and great series win against 3 tough starters for the M's.
That's the way you draw it up today.
Like the Ks from Burnes, but would like to see him throw a couple more strikes and shorten the counts to get 7-8 innings.
Offense was effective and the bottom half got involved today.
Kimbrel with a clean 9th.
Go get the next series.

100% agreement. Dial it up to get the K when you need it, but pitching to contact is more or less a science within the science of pitching.

Rather have seen him send Irvin back out there for the 9th than gone to Kimbrel

The only time Burnes should be a "pitch to contact" pitcher is if he has to reinvent himself after an arm injury. Besides, the name of the game in pitching at pretty much every level of play, especially the major leagues, is missing bats.
Here's hoping he keeps it up.

Three run lead and 7,8, & 9 coming up.
The Orioles need Kimbrel to be able to pitch in high leverage situations.
Yesterday was a pretty good way of building back some trust in him and Kimbrel getting back some confidence.
