Mayo's realistic shot is replacing Mountcastle at 1B. Prorate his 4 errors in his first 13 games of the season this year, and that's 50 errors, which would be 2.5x higher than the MLB leader in errors at 3B last year, Rafael Devers with 19.

He has 52 errors at 3B in his minor league career spanning 2041 innings since 2021. Again, Devers leads MLB over that same timespan with 56 errors, yet he's done so over 3876 innings.

IMO his bat's way above any reality of him being able to stick at 3B on a championship contending team.

The early errors are a concern, but it's a small sample size so I'm not going to go down the prorate it to a full season exercise.

I don't have a lot of conviction here as someone who hasn't really watched him defend. I am happy to consider opinions from those who have though and those have been trending in the right direction from what I've seen.

The great news is he's not needed at 3B and he seems to have some positional flexibility.

Ben's dead wrong on not wanting MLB to enact challenging balls and strikes.

Pretty funny it played out like that where the ump rang up Gunnar on a ball low and outside by 2".

That's a 7 run lead late in the game strike zone.

Hyde has to bark. The Os consistently get beat by these umps on these calls because Hyde doesnt bark. That pitch to Gunnar is an unacceptable strike 3 call. Just horseshit. I dont care that its 9-2.

He's been lousy at third since 2021. His bat was MLB ready probably August of last year? He's stuck.

My #1 complaint re: Hyde going back to last year.

He doesnt buy his team any calls. None. Just sits there with a constipated look on his face.

That's beyond the wall so shouldn't be interference.

If they overturn that Hyde has to get ejected.
