And I get that some of it is MD just isnt going to commit to the NIL stuff and give the AD great support in that regard. Im sure Willard probably already regrets leaving SH. But damn it figure something out. You better coach your butt off and learn to overachieve. Willard isnt an overachiever type.

DHS and Kaiser have been bad. Lamothe a total non-factor. DHS and Kaiser were at least highly rated....

I'll give him a pass for his first year with Batchelor. Didn't have much time to work the HS magic. He does get credit for Young.

As bleak as the future at MD looks right now, I doubt he regrets leaving SH. It wasn't long ago Maryland was stacking legit top classes with Turgeon.

His recruits so far have been just terrible. Next year could be disastrous.

He cant develop. People here started giving him some praise recently and I had to nip that s**t. Of course vet guys like Young,Reese and Scott at some point are going to carry this team to some wins. There is zero development. Rarely young kids contributing. If he couldve developed some of the young players they prob wouldve had a shot at a berth. A good shot. Its never been that much about Young, Scott and Reese. Again, things are looking super bleak going forward.

Things have changed with NIL. I guarantee you he figured MD basketball would be getting more support than they do on the NIL front. Now hes in a mega conference with surely on of the ADs that gets the least amount of NIL support. I think hes suspect from a development and xs and os standpoint but you combine that with the lack support hes getting on the money front and things are incredibly bleak. He may end up leaving MD with a record and reputation that makes it hard to find another decent D1 job anytime soon

Tough loss, UMD up 1 with ~ 5 minutes left and MSU goes on 12-1 run, ouch.  Reese's foul trouble pretty much doomed UMD from the start but give them credit for staying with MSU until the last 2 minutes when Willard basically tossed in the towel.  Another frustrating L.

I am not sure I have ever seen a game where a team played 2 against 5 on the offensive end and stayed in the game.

 

Reese with so many dumb fouls is really hurting the team.  I will say that it seemed like yesterday's crew had no intention of letting reese played but he plays very dumb and soft at times.
