We should probably question Steve's understanding of "math", but that can wait.
The 87.5 Wins is actually pretty aggressive. 101 isn't the start point for 2024 because of last years win total. Just like 47 wasn't the start point for 2019.
87.5 is the 7th highest line and the Dodgers and Braves are going to get their love at 100+, but basically all of the other teams that are even trying are between 71 and 93.
The Yankees, Guardians, Angels, Mets, Cards and Pads all were expecting to make the Playoffs last year.
20+ Teams this year think they have a real shot at the Playoffs. Never start believing you are owed something.
Last year, the Orioles set the AL and modern record for not losing a Series...that is History of MLB rare.
The 104 win Braves got swept 4 times (SD, HOU, TOR, MIA).
