A lot of shots thrown my way here. I'm on your side as far as thinking he sat out when he could have played. I also understand why he sat out. He's not Patrick Mahomes who is arguably already the best QB of this generation. Mahomes can get hurt and still get a massive deal. Lamar's not him. His legs are what make him special. Take one of those out, and create questions about whether he'll maintain the same mobility, and you have a massive hit on the initial length of the contract he's going to recieve. Not sure why that's so hard to believe.

Wasn’t trying to take shots at you.

He won an MVP while leading the league in TD passes. He currently has an excellent completion percentage. He can throw the football with the best of them.

Before January you weren’t going to find a bigger Lamar defender here, while everyone got their panties in a bunch when he throws a side arm pass. I know he’s talented AF and that’s what got me bent out of shape about not even trying. Not even doing a pregame warmup and see if he can go.

I never agreed with most here that he had to be mobile to be a good passer. That if he can’t run his game is useless. If those were the case then he isn’t the guy you give top money to. It’s a bonus that he can run, but he doesn’t need the element in order to throw.

Is he a top QB? Yes. Period. There is no “but” that follows. Except many are like “but he needs his legs to be a threat to be a better passer.” You don’t get to have it both ways. If you don’t think Lamar can win you a game(s) when running isn’t an option, then you (not you personally) can’t think he is a good QB.

Anyway, yeah, Andrews. Hope he heals fast and hope the Ravens play long enough that he can return this season.

Andrews had successful surgery per Harbaugh.

A running QB with a foot/ankle injury is a liability. Periodt. The Bengals would have been beaten with better offensive coaching in the playoffs, but let's ignore that.

If he didn't throw at all, and he ran every play, and they had the same overall effectiveness (Points.

Points per possession. RZ efficiency. Does he make others better? Does his presence make things easier for others?

Do defenses struggle to deal with him?).... he'd still be a top QB, because his job is to lead an effective offense, not to lead an effective offense by passing.

Also, I don't see it as a knock on his passing abilities, to say that his ability to run (and the attention that commands) helps him as a passer.

But yeah, of course he can pass.  He's always had a rocket arm, and a very live fastball that somehow still gets overlooked by people.
There were questions coming out of college about accuracy, that have long since been answered.

I don't know if he can win you games when running isn't an option, and neither does anyone else... because we haven't seen him take a snap in his career, where he wasn't a threat to run.  Any belief any of us have in his ability to win games without being able to run is completely hypothetical at this point.

Of all the high profile athletes that have ever had surgery, has anyone ever had "unsuccessful" surgery?

Has Harbaugh ever been honest about anything when it comes to injuries?

I’m not sure if Stanley’s surgery was bad or if he was reinjured.

Wasn’t OBJ’s first ACL surgery a failure?

I think that was because he came back too fast, which is why I think Andrews should be shut down until next year.
