A lot of shots thrown my way here. I'm on your side as far as thinking he sat out when he could have played. I also understand why he sat out. He's not Patrick Mahomes who is arguably already the best QB of this generation. Mahomes can get hurt and still get a massive deal. Lamar's not him. His legs are what make him special. Take one of those out, and create questions about whether he'll maintain the same mobility, and you have a massive hit on the initial length of the contract he's going to recieve. Not sure why that's so hard to believe.
Wasn’t trying to take shots at you.
He won an MVP while leading the league in TD passes. He currently has an excellent completion percentage. He can throw the football with the best of them.
Before January you weren’t going to find a bigger Lamar defender here, while everyone got their panties in a bunch when he throws a side arm pass. I know he’s talented AF and that’s what got me bent out of shape about not even trying. Not even doing a pregame warmup and see if he can go.
I never agreed with most here that he had to be mobile to be a good passer. That if he can’t run his game is useless. If those were the case then he isn’t the guy you give top money to. It’s a bonus that he can run, but he doesn’t need the element in order to throw.
Is he a top QB? Yes. Period. There is no “but” that follows. Except many are like “but he needs his legs to be a threat to be a better passer.” You don’t get to have it both ways. If you don’t think Lamar can win you a game(s) when running isn’t an option, then you (not you personally) can’t think he is a good QB.
