We picked up on the "Pitch Com" audio while they were interviewing Kike Hernandez while he was playing third. (Which is a ridiculous situation in itself.)
We picked up calls on about five or six pitches during the interview.

Wow.
I remember watching that live at my grandparent's house.

Everyone gets on Angel Hernandez and for very good reason but hes likely not worse than umps from 20+ years ago. The introduction of broadcast K Zones just highlight all the misses. And now we have the raw true data tracked as well. The umps today are better than ever with accuracy of the actual strike zone because technology has forced them to be better. I go back and sometimes catch clips from 90s games and in general you can see how much wider the zone is. Those pitches Lankford got called out on the other day wouldnt have got any notice by broadcasts.
Disagree. He is worse than umps 20 years ago. They didn't have to tools to see the error of their ways. He does and still SUCKS.

I agree.
He's awful and he would be awful in any era.
As you state, He SUCKS.
It's ridiculous that the worst professional umpire in the world gets to share a field with the best players in the world.
