Maryland appears to have a lot of work to do. No discipline. Ball movement is non-existent, and they've blown assignments on defense a # of times tonight.
This Davidson team is not one of the better Davidson teams from years past. They're small, and each play they wind up on their behinds.

Scott’s complete lack of effort defensively is absolutely killing this team.
I don't think it's lack of effort, it's just really bad basketball IQ.

That’s a loss which is gonna look pretty bad come tournament time.
Not if Maryland finishes the season around .500 it won't.

What happened? Did Steph Curry come back to Davidson as a graduate transfer or something?

No. They weren't good. But they did at least seem interested in winning, which was enough tonight.

I'm not kidding when I say this, but if Davidson were more competent at rotating the ball around the perimeter to free up their deep threats, this game might've been out of reach before Maryland could make a late push.
But yeah, I don't get what Willard was thinking. Your bigger, stronger and faster than your opponent. Run them ragged so that their legs are wavy mid-way through the 2nd half.
