Ok so he's a lefty. Just smoke his butt. His WHIP is over 2. This should be a smackdown and start the series off right.

I know nothing about the guy other than he's only thrown 7 innings. Must have just brought him up. Bottom line is, just like with the White Sox, the Angels have long since shut down 2023 and are just mailing it in at this point. Take advantage of it and work them over early and often. If there's any silver lining to the Orioles and Rays being so close is that they'll both play hard every day. If we had a 10 game lead, it's series like this that can turn ugly.

Somewhat of a B team but we're going up against the Angels C team. Let's get the W.
And hopefully, a 3 1/2 game lead.

It's looking like a strong possibility. 7-3 in the 9th. I'm actually watching the game and it sounds like Fenway down in Tropicana.

The Sox broke a 14-game losing streak at the Trop with today's win. I wonder if their announcers will be allowed to make note of that.

Didn't realize they had lost that many in a row there. Geez. What is it about that place? It's like the house of horrors for visiting teams.

Another day off for Adley is surprising. I’m down for getting Adley some rest before the playoffs.
I could be wrong but his slide at home plate yesterday when he was tagged out, he looked a little shaken up. Took him awhile to get into the standing position. He could just be banged up from wear and tear too.

Yeah I noticed that too. If so let McCann catch this series.

I'll echo what Palmer said in the postgame yesterday about this series:
Don't let Ohtani beat you.

He's played 131 of 136 games with 582 PAs. That's a whopping 693 PA pace. Posey's most was 623 (and he played 42 games at 1B that year) and Mauer's most while catching significant games was 641. Yadier Molina's most was 581 in 147 games. Resting to get any sort of freshness for the playoffs is fine with me.

There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note
"Now OPS sucks. Got it."
"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."
"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty

Ohtani a late scratch.
Word is he's eyeing having the UCL surgery ASAP. Curious if this is related to that.

I mean, what's he playing for this month? If there's any chance at all that he can pitch next year might as well try. Seems doubtful, but at least he can try something. I'm assuming the bat won't really be impacted either way, but I don't know.
