Of his 63 plate appearances, just 13 have seen him swing at the first pitch and just one has seen him put the first pitch in play. He hasn’t been much more aggressive on second pitches either, having put the ball in play just six times with an 0-1 or 1-0 count.
To me the most important paragraph in the article. Can't get hits if you can't put the ball in play.

Just noting that his OBP is 35 points higher than McCann's.

That's not a very good argument for having him on the team.....lol

Really interested to see if Cowser addresses any of the things I mentioned in this article, especially as it pertains to taking pitches. As we saw with Gunnar, aggressiveness can transform your approach at the plate and breed much better results. I really hope Cowser comes back ready to attack early in the count and punish first-pitch fastballs.

Me to but his games back at Norfolk hardly inspired much confidence for me. Just not good enough but maybe he has been doing better in practice it just hasn't quite showed up in the box scores yet?

He never really got off the ground because pitchers got a quick book on how to get him out and he just never adjusted. At the highest level, you have to adjust or they'll just make you look foolish. I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with his talent level as a hitter(fielding is probably a different story) but like Gunnar did, he needs a different approach.
