Severino did pitch well in his start in LA, but for the most part, he's been getting hammered and the Orioles battered him in New York. I would be very disappointed if they don't put at least 5 runs on the board today.

This is a must win to get back on track. Especially with a trip to Toronto coming up and they're hot and gaining on us. Not to mention that this is the rubber match in the season series with the Yankees. This is as pivotal as it can get in July.

I'll agree important, but not as important as possible. Probably just splitting hairs, but I think each game last week with the Rays were bigger games than tonight, IMO.

As baltbird24 said; interesting. Does anyone know why this was a better choice than putting him on the IL for arm fatigue? I am convinced that's his problem lately, and am afraid Kremer is next in line for that issue due to his soon to be personal record innings pitched.

Can recall him from a demotion if there is another injury and he needs to be recalled. IL trip you can't end early.

Also if he is optioned for >20 days he'll end up short of a full year of service so we'll get an extra year of control (may have this anyways, I forget if he got full years both seasons he's been here or not and haven't checked his status).
