Yup. July and early Aug is tough. They have to gather themselves. They can survive a losing month of July but it has to be like 3 or 4 games under vs 9 or 10 under.

Since June 1st the O's are 14 and 14. At some point this isn't a slump and they are a .500 team. .500 the rest of the way gets them to 88 wins. I don't think that's good enough.

 

And the rest of the July schedule post ASB is tough. Marlins, Dodgers, Phillies, Rays, and Yankees.

I will be jumping for joy if the O's win the next 2 over NY then get 2 out of 3 at Minnesota. But I wouldn't put much money on that.

This team is really in trouble.

Can’t help but get down during the slumps and get high during the winning streaks but I always felt like this team was getting away with a lot. They won a lot of close games and got blown out a bunch. I just don’t see them winning 90 games at this point. Two weeks ago that felt like a certainty.

Hopefully, Cowser will spark this offense.  Westburg has hit pretty well since he got here but the line-up is pretty pitiful right now.

I'll buy total run differential can mean some regression is possibly coming, but not sequencing within a game.

I think some are looking for reasons that the second half is going to be bad.

 

I do agree with those who have said things have not felt the same, the last week or two, but I think a stretch like this is inevitable for every team in baseball.  I bet if we took a look at each team, we would see a similar stretch.

Right now, most of our hitters are cold. The concern for me is the pen.  Elias needs to get aggressive and bring in high leverage type guys.
