Off to the Bronx

Yep, to face the guy whose last outing was a perfect game.

And Baker and Perez to keep it at 1.

It is nice to see them both pitching better

He's no Johnny Vander Meer.  He was having a pretty lousy season up until that game.  He can be hit.

Got extremely lucky. Cole pitches today so we won’t see him over the 4 game ser

Not to mention Judge being on the IL.

Keep an eye on if Cowser is in the lineup tonight. As a potential Hays replacement.

We are away, and were following on line, how bad did the Westburg and Hays injuries look?

Hays looked like he might need to rest until after the all-star break. Westburg said he’s confident he’s fine after the game.

I mean Westburg played the field in the 2b. No really worries there. Looked like it got the elbow guard first

Can't replace Hays production with Hicks/McKenna.

Thanks Bob, following on the Game Track sucks.  Losing Hays is going to hurt, even if Cowser gets the call, but I would rather have him get healthy, to avoid a replay of last year, where I am convinced, he played hurt the entire second half.

Im sure you said the same about Mullins. Ill prob regret saying this but doesnt feel like this should be a long term issue with Hays

Cowser and Mountcastle in the lineup so no immediate IL concerns for Hays. If they knew he was gonna be out awhile Cowser or Mounty would get the call. Pretty sure of that.

I was pleasantly surprised by Hicks production while Mullins was out.

No reason to think Hays can't play, but if I'm being honest, I'd rather rest him for a week with the AS break, and get him healthy...hip bruise isn't a big deal, but no reason to push it....Bring up Cowser PLEASE!!!!!

As far as Westy, I am fearful that hand hit will be worse than he thinks....expect him to miss some time too....put them both on the shelf for 10 days and call it a day...keep it simple.

A healthy Hays = an all star!  We've seen it!  Dude can rake and is a leader!  Keep him healthy!

Elias's comments seemed to indicate Cowser's call up was near.

Cowser has continued to rake since returning form his injury. If Hays needs to miss any time he should get the call, and should remain up with Santander sliding to 1B/DH once Hays is back.

It'll be real hard to justify not going to Cowser if they need someone.

Yeah, Elias alluded to the fact that Cowser's injury was ultimately what kept him down, but he hinted at the fact they didn't want to rock the boat. He was basically providing weasel wording (unnecessarily) because Cowser was hurt anyway.

Cuz you're 100% right - Cowser needs to be up here, and basically win the 3rd OF spot away from Hicks, cuz Santander needs to be a DH/1B.
