Philip Rivers 2.0.

Yup. Great fantasy football QB. How do you not make one Super Bowl with prime Rivers, Tomlinson, Gates, Vincent Jackson, etc.

Notice how you didn’t list any defensive players? That’s how. Seemed like Rivers put up a lot of big numbers with his defenses giving up 30+ often.

Lamar won't even play a game as the highest paid QB in the league. Herbert gets an incrementally larger extension, 5/$262.5M. Very slightly less fully guaranteed at signing though if initial reports are accurate.

Flacco didn’t either. He was 3rd after Ryan and Rodgers got extended after.

His coach was also a bone head.

Same reason Manning doesn't own more hardware. If Colts invested on the defensive side a little more during Manning's prime, Brady may have a few less rings.

It's pretty easy to knock Rivers, and all of the reasons mentioned above are valid for why he never reached a SB, but let's not forget that in the 16 years prior to the beginning of the Mahomes era, the AFC SB QB was named Brady or Manning for 12 of them.   Only Roethlisberger (3) and Flacco (1) broke that up.  Herbert's a good QB who if he stays with the Chargers for 10 years will most likely be playing in the Mahomes/Allen/Burrow era.  He could easily suffer the same fate with a team that if they were in the NFC could most likely break through.

Yeah, he lost 7 playoff games--Brady x 3, Manning, Big Ben, Josh Allen, and, well, Mark Sanchez, but the others are tough.

It's a Chargers thing, The same routine with  Fouts, Joiner, and Winslow. They must be cursed or something lol

Fouts threw two picks in the biggest game of his life (1981 AFC Conference Championship) and ultimately lost by 7 to the Raiders, 34-27. They also fumbled the ball five times (losing one of them). Three turnovers to Oakland’s zero was too much to overcome.

They would’ve curb-stomped the Eagles the way Oakland went on to do.

Shawne Merriman, Antonio Cromartie, Shaun Phillips, Quentin Jammer. Team wasn't totally void of defensive talent.
