Didn't see a player page for him here.

Great interview with him in the A's game (4/12). Easy guy to root for.  Grounded.

Coulombe's next appearance will be his 200th.

"Frenchie" was drafted in the 25th round (Dodgers) in 2012. Pick #776.

Pick #776 has only seen 4 players make the Majors. Dewon Day (2002, Jays) pitched in 13 games with a -0.5 WAR. Andy Dominique (1997, Phils) posted for 13 ABs and a .368 OPS for a -0.3 WAR.

12 year ML vet Mike Mordecai (1986, Pirates) was also drafted #776 but posted a -2.8 WAR over his 793 games and 1362 ABs (.665 OPS)

Danny has posted a 1.9 WAR in his almost 200 appearances so barring something crazy, he's the best player drafted #776 of All-Time....and since MLB shortened the draft after the 2019 season, we likely never have another 25th round so he can keep adding and comfortably claim "Best #776" in the history of MLB.

Write it in ink Frenchie.

#orioles selected the contract of INF/OF Josh Lester from Triple-A Norfolk. He will wear #49. - Placed LHP Danny Coulombe on the Bereavement List.

Vavra was doing nothing -- get it going in Norfolk.

There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note

"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."

"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty

He became the odd man out.

This roster has too many infielders seeing time in the outfield.

If only he was a cast off retread from another team Elias would give him a good look

Sadly, Hicks probably adds more value than Vavra. At least Hicks can play a competent CF.

Signing with the Twins. Curious how much he gets and how he does this year.

$3M.

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt on him and Webb and injury-related concerns.  If both guys pitch well and healthy this year, then maybe that will be rescinded in the future.  Hoffman another example.

Definitely bummed that Coulombe got hurt and led to his release.  He was so reliable for his duration here.  Big loss to have that just yanked away.

Danny was really missed when he went down last year.  I wish him well.  3M seems like a very fair price.

$3M sounds a lot like an "everyone else was also worried about the elbow" price.  If it was just based on recent performance, the O's would've absolutely picked up his $4M option as he'd be worth like two or three times that on the open market.

Yeah the fact that’s all a solid to good RP got tells me he has something that looks risky medically.

I agree his medicals are risky but I also think his style isnt appreciated. He throws a 90 MPH fastball on a good day.

In a world where every RP is expected to come in throwing upper 90s; Danny Coulombe and his funky motion, unhittable breaking stuff was quite the uno reverse card.
