That was quick.

Kind of surprised by this...figured it would take more time.Mike Brown has been fired.
That was quick.
But who are you going to get?
Chuck Person or Bickerstaff will be the interim coach.
Do they think they get Phil back right now?

Shaw would be a possibility.
Maybe Phil, but I doubt it.
Not going to happen, but what would be hilarious is Stan Van Gundy.

Thought he was a bit of a retread choice when they hired him, but still surprised he got such a quick hook. Probably more to Kobe's "Death Stare" than they were letting on.
I don't think this was on Kobe.
BTW, D'Antoni had knee surgery recently and can't get up and about for a month or longer.

Yes, just yesterday, Jim Buss was praising Brown and saying he wasn't going anywhere. Proves once again, not to believe what you hear. I'm likewise surprised partially because of that though.Kind of surprised by this...figured it would take more time.

It's going to be Phil.D'Antoni is a name that has apparently been discussed.
Shaw would be a possibility.

Seems like you'll be right.

If the Lakers don't become the juggernaut they were expected to be, a team in LA may still represent the West in the Finals.

So the Clippers are looking really good.
If the Lakers don't become the juggernaut they were expected to be, a team in LA may still represent the West in the Finals.
And they don't even have Billups/Hill back yet.

I know everyone likes to talk about how there are so few teams with a chance to win it all, and many said the number was only 3 coming into the season, but I think fans of more teams than that can get their hopes at this point. Some of these teams will fade or will require some good fortune, but here's the list of teams I'd say have at least some glimmer of hope to win it all.
Miami
NYK
BOS
CHI (if Rose comes back strong)
OKC
SA
LAL
LAC
MEM
Now all those other East teams are very unlikely with Miami at the top, but Wade is already battling an injury and Allen has been a defensive sieve in large part due to an ankle that may not get any better this year, so there's a chance. And of course another injury to a key Miami player would open the door further.
All 5 of those West teams have a legit shot at the Finals based on how things have transpired so far.

The Trail Blazers just won a wild one in OT over the Rockets, 119-117.
Man, Lillard looks like a lock for Rookie of the Year right now.
I've been thrilled with the way Harrison Barnes has played, and Kidd-Gilchrist has been really good too. But Lillard, wow. He's the real deal.

Gotta wonder if they will look to deal Amare. The Knicks won in San Antonio despite a poor game from Melo. This is quite the start by them.

Gotta wonder if they will look to deal Amare.
Amare may have the most untradable contract in the NBA right now.
So, he will probably end up being dealt to the Wizards.

Maybe, but there won't be much of a market for him. It will be interesting to see if they make him a bench player when he returns and if so, how he reacts to it.
