That clinches no quad 3/quad 4 losses, definitely might help the resume if they're on the edge between like a 7 or 8 seed

A win tomorrow hopefully get them off the 8 line. Getting to 6 or 7 would be real nice.

We havent been to a conf final since 04. Only 1 S16 appearance since '03. Please someone correct me if thats wrong about S16. I dont think Im missing 1. Is there any wonder why Ive become become apathetic towards MD basketball the last 10 years or so. Has nothing to do with B10 or really even Turge. The last number of years with Gary werent special either.

No, you're correct. 2016 was the only other trip to the Sweet Sixteen since 2003.

They were a dagger buzzer beater from Tom Izzos team away from a sweet 16 with Gary in 2010 I think? That was a good team. A fun team. I still cue up Cliff Tucker against GA Tech on YouTube at least once a year. SVP tumbled into the next row of seats celebrating. 3 seed. Beat Duke at home to be ACC co-champs IIRC. Way more remarkable than anything Turdge ever did. His lone trip they beat Hawaii and So.Dak St. to get there.

Given that we just saw a Big Ten team blow their chance at the Elite Eight from a 15 seed mid-major last year last year, I'm not gonna shrug off taking care of business against two mid-majors as a way to reach the Sweet 16. It's not incredibly impressive, sure, but it's not Turgeon's fault the 5 seed they could've met in R32 lost to Hawaii

 

That 5 seed also happened to include current 2x NBA All-Star Jaylen Brown lol
