I assume there is still a 13 pitcher limit next year? 5 starters plus Felix, Perez, Tate, Wells, Hall, Voth, Baker would be ahead of him, he'd have to be next.

I think Hall might start at Norfolk. I'm intrigued by the idea of him in the pen but I think he still could benefit from some focused improvements at Norfolk. Breaking a potential future SP in as an MLB reliever is a perfectly viable option, so it wouldn't be giving up on him as a starter to use him in the pen, but I lean towards Norfolk's rotation being the better place to begin'23 for him.

You could be right. Elias or Hyde or somebody said the other day he'd be built up to start in the spring, so assuming he doesn't make the rotation it may be better to keep him throwing starter innings regularly. But I also figured he can't start the whole year (98 innings last year) so bullpen at first and then see where it goes also makes sense.

Voth will probably be the 5th starter. Hall in AAA.

Could see another version of the Sulser and Scott trade.
Akin and Krehbiel would be my guess btw.

Gibson, other new SP, Rodriguez, Bradish, and Kremer should have the inside track to be the rotation. Even if we don't get a second new starter, I still think Wells has the edge over Voth.

I think it would be Tate and one of those two, since he's arb-eligible.

I'm pretty optimistic about the options for the back half of the rotation and the bullpen. Just really wanted the other two rotation spots to be filled with better than the likes of Gibson. Maybe we still bring in someone closer to a front-ends guy, but at this point I'll be surprise if it's even a mid-tier guy. Hope they confound that expectation.
Corey Kluber or Ross Stripling may be the ceiling.

I’d slide Wells and Voth to the bullpen.
I think I would like to see if Wells could build on last year. He was pretty good until he wore down.

Politi made Keith Law's list of potentially useful Rule 5 picks.
I don’t think any of this year’s Rule 5 draft picks ends up generating much value over replacement level this year, but there are four who stood out as at least potentially sticking with their new clubs and being useful.
Andrew Politi, taken by Baltimore from Boston, is a straight reliever who sits 93-95 mph with a cutter to help him get lefties out and a downward-breaking slider for right-handed batters. I’m sure the Orioles will find the perfect way to use him

Politi's stats are impressive - hopefully he can continue his success with the O's and be the next Lopez- no reason to think he can't.
