Marvel really let Sam Raimi do his thing with this one.

I usually ignore all the talk about an upcoming movie release. But this one was impossible to do that with. As a result, I was a bit disappointed at what the movie was, because of Marvel's trailer trickery suggesting what it would be.

Good news! I saw a dog today.

All I know is that as a society? We’ve collectively jumped the “super hero” shark. It’s worse than Star Wars. Just stop.

Generally speaking, I'm a fan or the Marvel movies. But it is getting to be too much. And that's just my opinion of the Marvel stuff. I don't watch DC movies or that show "the Boys", the many Netflix superhero stuff, etc. My nephew is in his mid-30's and sleeps in Captain America bed sheets and pajamas. He adores anything and everything superhero related. So I think it's safe to assume this thing is going to continue for quite awhile.

What are comics besides being movie and book plots that have been written and sitting on a shelf for decades already? Getting into this is just opening a can that's going to go a long time. It's kinda like soap operas in the sense they can change and walk back anything, and because people love the universe they will keep coming back. If soaps can run for half a century, so can these, easy. There's so much story out there untapped they aren't going to go away. They will just always be an alternative. Might not be for everyone, but plenty of people will still buy in.

You're probably right.

There's so much more than the cacophony of the Marvel/DC universes though. Crime noir, and the second chance detectives, etc.

Once you see super human powers, I mean, it's just so...green screen.

Good point

Tarentino commented somewhere that he thought Hateful 8 would have had much more success, if it wasn't limited to a few showing a week, because theaters were dedicating so many screens to Marvel. I didn't really like that movie, but his overall comment rings true to me. I always take a vacation between Christmas and NYE. And because that's a prime movie season, I have traditionally been able to see 7 movies that week. The past couple of years I have only gone to 3, maybe 4. It just seems like there aren't that many adult movies make any longer.

I still find plenty of time for adult movies.
