I have zero issue with Musk making every $ he can. He has products people want, that's how it works.
I have zero issue with Musk buying Twitter if he wants.
I mean, I can dream about the philanthropic things I could imagine doing with $44B, but he can do what he wants with his fortune. It's his money.
Free speech is a right which I greatly appreciate. I don't have to agree with your pov, to respect that right either.
If he feels he needs to protect that with Twitter, okay, whatever. If it's a fun toy for him, okay, whatever.
I do think the, "Can't shout fire in a crowded theater," line is apt and something he should appreciate though.
If there is false information being spread on the platform (with the amplification abilities Twitter has), I hope he will take steps to address that.

Musk's fortune is in many ways dependent on Chinese manufacturing - what if they demand certain things with how he handles Twitter - that's how money works, China can flex how they want - okay, whatever?
