I said to Mandy with a minute left, I just have no faith they can pull this off. Sure enough, they blow it with 1.9 left. Terrible offensive sets the preceding couple possessions. But they battled tonight and deserve credit for that in the sense that they really don’t have much to play for at this point, other than their own personal resumes.

Yep, the game came down toMSU running a great set on the last possession and Maryland not being able to finish on their end.

The play Fatts kicked out of bounds was a good play, he just is not good at finishing after blowing by his man.

Just once in my remaining life, I'd like to see the Terps in a late offensive possession actually move the ball around, move players around, make some passes, and maybe get ONE sort of open look from someone. Even if it doesn't fall in.

Can't remember if they were consecutive possessions or not, but a prior look where they basically had four guys standing around, Fatts dribbling solo, then throwing up like a 30 foot three... when they could have taken the lead... Horrific.

It's the same thing over and over and over for 10 years now it seems.

Yep, had him beat but needed to protect the ball there just an extra millisecond and he’s fine. Instead, they poke it out, goes off his shoe and they lose possession. That sucked.

Great moment on the radio from last night's game.

 

At some point in the 2nd half Chris Knoche says something to Johnny Holiday like:  "You know Johnny, I read something online today - I thought it said Johnny Holiday is a woody - but no, it said you had won the Woody Durham award!"  And Walt Williams seriously laughed for like 2 minutes straight on the air, and Holiday could barely go on announcing the game.

 

Anyway - just a fun little tidbit there.

Feel like the effort and play Manning has gotten from this team should definitely make him a legit HC candidate for schools lower on the totem pole than Maryland, I'd assume the Wake Forest stuff will scare off like a Big 12 school or whatever but someone in the A-10 or something like that should definitely be taking a look

I was impressed by this effort. A win could have meant a lot but it's nice to see them have enough pride to not get blown out on their home floor by a superior team. I know he's not spectacular, but Eric Ayala will go down as one of the most underrated Terps of all time.

When you're an ex player like Manning you really don't get too many chances as a coach. Time is just not in your favor. After Maryland he has basically 1 or 2 shots to get into a high major program before age hits him in the rear end.
