After a blowout loss on the road to Michigan, Maryland returns home to face #17 Illinois on Friday night. In their first meeting this year, the Fighting Illini came away with a 76-64 victory in a game the Terps were winning at halftime. Brad Underwood's team had won six straight games before losing their last matchup to #4 Purdue in double overtime on Monday afternoon. Junior center Kofi Cockburn posted a double-double in these teams' first meeting, scoring 23 points and grabbing 18 rebounds.

It'll be interesting to see if they have any fight left in them and if they even try to get off the mat tonight in a game they're definitely supposed to lose. It is at home, so hopefully they'll show up. I want to be entertained a little, if possible.

Well that's a huge difference maker. Terps played well when Kofi was out (or on the court but being ignored) last time.

Some abysmal rebounding from Maryland the last few minutes, which is unacceptable with Cockburn out. Far too many second chance opportunities given to Illinois.
