Following a loss to Penn State last weekend, Maryland hits the road to face #7 Michigan State on Saturday afternoon. The Spartans lost their first game of the season last weekend to Purdue, and currently hold a 8-1 (5-1) record. After being ranked #3 in the College Football Playoff's first set of rankings last week, they're set to fall out of the Top 4 this week.

 

The matchup to watch here is Michigan State's dreadful pass defense against Maryland's high-flying passing attack. On paper, it looks like another opportunity for Taulia Tagovailoa to have a big day throwing the football. Even if he does however, the Spartans' offense is good enough to outscore almost anyone in the country.

 

Michigan State is currently favored by 13 points in this game.

Changes to this week's depth chart:

• Challen Faamatau is no longer listed as a backup RB, with Peny Boone now listed as Tayon Fleet-Davis' sole backup.
• Spencer Anderson has moved from RT to C, with Aric Harris as his backup.
• Delmar Glaze is now listed as the starter at RT, in addition to being the backup LT.
• Amelio Moran is now listed as the backup LG, in addition to being the backup RG.
• Branden Jennings is no longer listed as the backup WILL, with Gereme Spraggins now listed as a co-starter with Ahmad McCullough.

While Locksley didn't mention it in his press conference this week, Faamatau seems to have suffered a significant leg injury based on his social media feed. He's likely out for the rest of this season. Jennings has struggled to get back on the field after the injury he suffered earlier this year, and it's unclear when he'll get back (if at all).
