What's up with Bell? He was signed before Murray, right?

Murray made it through all of Saints camp before being released. Bell was on his couch a week ago. Probably another week or two before Bell is close to ready.

He wasn't playing football.  By definition he cannot get into football shape. JStruds is saying no amount of outside training can replace at least some amount of time in pads getting hit.

We have no RB's. I think Mike was probably more right, sitting on the couch. Otherwise, he probably would've had a job to begin with. Just can't stand the guy.

I don't know this applies to Bell, but in general, the days of an Artie Donovan spending their whole off season sucking down beers and otherwise not training are long, long gone. I assume he has maintained a conditioning regimen, but is still not ready to go. Having said that, it is hard to shift gears and root for him, but if he's wearing purple and black, how can I not?

With all the pulling they ask of the guards Cleveland's massive but unathletic profile always sounded like an odd fit for the Ravens.  Not playing in your first game is meaningless for a 3rd round OL rookie, so I don't think this tells us that he won't be very good and perhaps get there very quickly.

That’s true. He’s raw as a pass blocker, with the depleted RB position, maybe they plan to throw a bit tonight as well.
