Any lineup changes tomorrow vs. Pettitte?

Even left vs. left, I would think about playing Thome.

Which means that we haven't had the opportunity to make a dint into...

27-6, 3.52 ERA, 253.1 IP, 148 K's.

But we will tomorrow!

I'm feeling good about Chen tomorrow. The lefties in NYY lineup scare me a lot more than their opposites.

I see it being the same, but expect to see some matchup maneuvering later on. I can't see Pettitte getting through 6

Andy Pettitte faced off against the O's in game 5 of the 1996 ALCS. He pitched 8 innings and gave up 2 runs in the win. Time to make him 1-1 lifetime vs. the O's in the playoffs.

The O's can eliminate some of the pressure they will be feeling, with some early runs tomorrow.

The wait until the game tonight will be intolerable.

Don't have a lot of confidence in Chen right now. Hope he surprises me.

I actually agree with you. I wouldn't have minded seeing Tillman or Gonzalez pitch tonight. But I understand Buck wanted to go with the guy that has been pretty successful all year long.

I'm actually feeling really good about Chen tonight for some reason. I'm optimistic.

I agree, although Ford did okay last night. I would like to se Thome get a shot tonight.

Petitie is a pro, tough on both sides of the batter box. Let's see if Thome can do some damage.

Rain looks to be a factor tonight:

If the game is postponed, it will be made up tomorrow (Tues.) on what would have been the teams' travel day.

I'd rather they call it early. The game is already starting at 8. I don't want to see a 10pm start time.

Whether they get this game in or not, will Game 2 have a more, less, or about the same crowd (in terms of amplitude, emotion, passion) as last night?

Be nice if they called it at 5:30 or so before I left. Don't think the travel day is as much of an issue as it usually is since it's a relative quick trip. Sure, they'd like to avoid it.

If I recall correctly, the home team still technically can decide if a game starts or not (with lots of influence from MLB), it's not until the WS that MLB completely takes over (including whether retractable roofs can retract or not).

Well, it was supposed to rain all day downtown. I'm down here now and it's not raining. Let's just hope the weathermen are wrong and the rain holds off somehow.

I'll be at the game tonight so it'll be tough for me to check in to the game thread.

I live in Elkridge (10 minutes away) and it just started drizzling a little bit.

Hope it stays away. Last night was hell.
